About Sarah

Sarah is a trainee forensic psychologist currently undertaking the BPS Stage 2 Qualification in Forensic Psychology and is two-thirds of the way through this training, working towards registration and chartership as a Forensic Psychologist. She has six years of experience working within child and adolescent residential therapeutic units and adult supported living services, providing forensic mental health assessments and interventions to individuals who present with complex emotional, behavioural and social needs. She has experience working with a wide range of presentations, including Complex PTSD, dissociation, attachment disorders, eating disorders, violence and aggression, harmful sexualised behaviour, self-harm and suicidal ideation, autism, learning disabilities and individuals at risk of child criminal and sexual exploitation.

Within role Sarah undertakes psychological assessments, report writing and delivering trauma responsive evidence-based therapeutic interventions including DBT, CBT, Mentalisation and EMDR. Sarah has experience in designing and delivering training for residential staff around risk and risk management and she is a Master trainer on the Ashurst Mastery Model. In addition, she provides clinical consultations, facilitates reflective practice sessions to support staff teams in managing risk and understanding complex behaviours.
